Air data system fault finding and cockpit instrument checking is time
The pitot, static and void hoses have flared tube connections which mate with he male -cone fittings at the Pitot, Static and Void ports on the rear panel.
All hoses are colour coded and have different sized fittings, as follows, to ensure that the correct connections are made:
A. PITOT - Colour BLUE- Size 7/1s _ 20 UNJF
B. STATIC - Colour RED - Size 9/1s -18 UNJF
C. VOID - Colour YELLOW -Size 1/2 - 20 UNJF
Incorporated in the truck are four pitot, five static and two void outlets which can be individually isolated by solenoid valves controlled from the RCDU. The male cone outlet fittings are equipped with protective caps attached to the rear panel by wire lanyards. When the hoses are disconnected, the caps should be fitted to provide protection against damage and contamination.
Power is applied to the MCADTS via the multiway power input connector at the nearside top right corner. The power lead provided is intended for use on a 115V a.c. 400Hz 3-phase supply. Leads are also available to provide the following options:
A. 240Vac 50Hz single phase
B. 110Vac 50/60Hz single phase
C. 28Vdc
The MCADTS has integral vacuum and pressure supplies, generated via a multi-headed dry diaphragm pump. The pump runs intermittently during operation of the MCADTS; only operating when pressure is demanded. The Remote Control and Display Unit (RCDU) is connected at the socket in the lower dish at the nearside bottom right corner of the CCU. For remote operation, it may be removed from the CCU and connected via its interconnecting lead or, alternatively, the extension lead if required.
Various operational modes may be selected and controlled from the menus presented on the RCDU video screen.

The risk of inconsistent calibration and test, or even instrument damage, is ever present in time critical maintenance operations. Reliance on observed timings and pressure overshoot has been eliminated. Rapid detection of instrument or pneumatic switch problems is achieved. This latest microprocessor based test
equipment provides operational benefits immediately.
The Curtiss-Wright Controls Integrated Sensing (CWCIS) Micro Leak, PSLT unit is the most versatile and dependable instrument of it’s kind. It is userfriendly, being simple in operation. Its built-in microcontroller enables the unit yo function with minimal operator intervention. Readings you can depend on.
• Microprocessor controlled • Electric pumping and automatic timing
• Pressure control mode for gauge checks • 2 year calibration
• Minimum operator intervention
• Rugged and portable with ABS carrying case
Developed to primarily generate pitot and static pressures in order to leak test air data equipment, PSLT is also designed for functional checking of aircraft airspeed and altitude switches. The easy-to-read status display indicates set pressure, actual pressure, settling period and leak rate, along with warning flags for pressure achieved, venting, low battery and more. An integrated restrictor automatically vents at a safe rate in the event of power failure.
Connection to the aircraft is via a single-output, push on pipe connection, allowing the option of pitot or static system tests.
The Micro Leak Tester provides leading-edge precision, accuracy and reliability in detecting altitude and airspeed gauge, and pneumatic switch leaks in record time thanks to its powerful, self-contained, batteryoperated pump. The Micro Leak Tester eliminates laborious manual pumping, oft-times inaccurate timing by stopwatch, or imprecise visually watching for pressure overshoots which could damage costly
equipment.
The PSLT comes complete in its own rugged carrying case, which also houses 2 metres of hose and the operator’s manual …more than a test set, an operational necessity.
The N1304B-1 SELCAL encoder console includes the latest state-of-the-art tone sourcing that generates all 16 SELCAL frequencies.
In operation, the console operator simply selects the four-digit code assigned to the aircraft, confirms correct selection on the large alpha display, and momentarily presses the “SEND” button. Relay contacts within the unit can be wired to automatically key the base station, causing the selective signaling to be automatically transmitted. Optionally, the operator can control the encoder entirely from an external computer via the included RS-232 interface and software control module.
The small size and weight of the unit make it perfect for direct replacement of older 12 code units or installation in new facilities. Simply adding the rack mount adapters to the desktop housing allows the unit to be mounted in a 19” rack, only requiring 1.75 inches of panel space. Rack adapters are supplied with every unit.
The SELCAL encoder can be operated on 115/230 VAC 50/60 Hz and may be used worldwide without adapters or modifications.
Avtech’s CTS-700 ramp test set tests ICAO standard SELCAL decoding systems, HF and VHF radio systems, audio systems, and ATSCALL or DTMF selective calling decoders that reside on the aircraft. Battery-powered and totally independent of ground facilities, the CTS-700 generates the RF and tone signals needed to activate the system under test.
The test signal transmits directly to the aircraft radio system by incorporating a crystal-controlled RF generator for VHF and HF frequencies, and provides a thorough system evaluation for correct identification of faults. Eliminating the need for ground radio facilities dramatically speeds the testing and troubleshooting of complex problems.
Housed in a gray fiberglass case, the CTS-700 is available as a system that includes the charger, antenna, and operator’s manual. (An audio output is included for use with bench test facilities.)
